MIL-SPEC Ballistics, Assembled in Oregon

The KILO8K-ABS GEN II is SIG's answer to a specific complaint: the original KILO8K was a phenomenal ranging engine wrapped in glass that read cold and blue. The Special Weapons Group rebuilt the optical system from user feedback, cut the blue tint by 95%, and put the whole unit through MIL-SPEC assembly in Oregon. What you get is a rangefinder that hands you a firing solution past a mile and looks natural doing it.

The Glass Got Fixed

This is the headline change. The re-engineered optical path reduces blue tint by roughly 95% compared to the Gen I, which means truer color rendering and materially better performance in the low-light windows that actually matter. LensArmor™ and SpectraCoat™ coatings handle abrasion resistance and reflection control. The 7x magnification and 25mm objective sit in a body that still weighs only 7.5 oz.

Applied Ballistics Elite, Onboard

Not a stripped-down calculator — the full Applied Ballistics Elite solver lives in the unit, with the complete AB bullet database and custom drag curve support. No phone required to get a solution. Onboard environmental sensors read temperature, pressure, and humidity while a digital compass supplies direction of fire, so the solver is working from live conditions rather than assumptions you typed in that morning.

Gen II Lightwave DSP™ and XR Mode

The updated Lightwave DSP™ ranging engine adds an extended range (XR) mode for reaching out to reflective targets at extreme distance. Real-world numbers: up to 2,000 yards on deer, up to 2,500 yards on trees, and up to 8,000 yards on a reflective target. Laser divergence is a tight 1.3 MRAD, which is what keeps returns clean at those distances instead of splashing off the hillside behind your target.

Active-Matrix OLED Display

A red active-matrix OLED puts the range, angle, and full ballistic solution in a sharp circle-plus-milling-grid reticle. It stays legible against snow, dark timber, and everything between. Lumatic™ adjusts display brightness to ambient conditions automatically.

Waypoints and BDX 2.0

Drop remote waypoints straight to OnX Maps, Basemaps, Apple Maps, and Google Maps — range a spot from the glassing knob and it lands on your map before you ever start walking. Ballistic Data Exchange 2.0 pairs the unit with the SIG BDX app and compatible BDX riflescopes so the dope moves to the scope on its own.

Power

A single CR2 battery delivers a minimum of 4,000 ranges. One spare in the pack covers a full season.
