Gen II LightWave DSP Ranging Engine
The second-generation LightWave DSP engine pushes maximum reflective range to 8,000 yards, with practical hunting ranges of 2,000 yards on deer and 2,500 yards on trees. New target modes include Extended Range (XR) for pushing the limits at distance, Fog Mode for cutting through atmospheric interference, and First, Best, and Last target modes for precise target isolation in cluttered environments. Laser divergence of 1.2 x 0.25 MRAD ensures a tight beam for accurate ranging on small or distant targets.
Active Matrix OLED Graphic Display
The KILO8K-ABS is the first rangefinder to feature a 304 x 256 Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode (AMOLED) display. Unlike traditional LED or LCD rangefinder displays, the AMOLED delivers a full graphic readout with rich contrast, fast refresh, and true black backgrounds. All critical data — range to target, elevation holdover, wind hold, energy on target, and velocity at distance — is displayed simultaneously so you have the complete picture without cycling through screens.
Applied Ballistics Elite with BDX 2.0
The KILO8K-ABS runs Applied Ballistics Elite, the gold standard in long-range ballistics software. The complete AB bullet database is onboard, with support for custom drag curves, up to 25 custom bullet profiles, and 8 onboard ballistic groups for quick switching between rifles and loads. Onboard environmental sensors and a digital compass deliver real-time atmospheric data for accurate ballistic calculations without a separate weather meter. BDX External (BDX-X) connects to external devices including Kestrel weather meters and Garmin GPS units for even greater precision. BDX 2.0 via Bluetooth 5.x provides multipoint wireless connectivity to BDX-enabled SIG riflescopes and red dots for automatic holdover transmission.
BaseMap & App Integration
The KILO8K-ABS integrates with the BaseMap app to drop remote waypoints on ranged targets — a powerful capability for scouting, spotting for a partner, or documenting shooting positions in the field. Full configuration is handled through the SIG Sauer BDX App, giving you complete control over profiles, ballistic settings, and display preferences from your smartphone.
