ELD-X Bullet Technology
The ELD-X features Hornady's Heat Shield® tip, which is immune to aerodynamic heating and retains its shape throughout the bullet's flight — delivering the highest-in-class BC over the entire trajectory. A heavy InterLock® ring mechanically locks the core to the AMP® jacket. At conventional ranges (0-400 yards), the bullet drives a wide wound channel with 50-60% retained weight. At extended range (400+ yards) where velocities drop, the Heat Shield tip initiates expansion that other hunting bullets cannot match — 85-90% retained weight with deep penetration.
